Tanya Baycheva-Merger works as a Researcher at the Chair of Forest and Environmental Policy Group at Albert-Ludwig University Freiburg (Germany).She holds a MSc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Cologne (Germany) and a BSc. in Environmental and Resource Management from the Technical University of Bradenburg (BTU), Cottbus (Germany). Her main research interests are in the area of forest policy instruments and institutions. Specific interests are forest information use and exchang and criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management. 

Starting from February 2016, she works on her PhD project titled: "Forest information exchange in Europe: an actor-centred institutionalist  approach".

Before joining the University of Freiburg, Tanya worked as a researcher at the European Forest Institute (EFI) and as a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Current Projects:

·         Distributed, integrated and harmonized forest information for bioeconomy outlooks (DIABOLO)
