My research is problem oriented and applied as well as theory driven. It comprises following areas linking research on ideas, interests and institutions: 

  • Policy studies in the area of land use, in particular on forest, agriculture, climate and nature conservation
  • Interlinkages between land use policies at different political levels
  • Policy integration
  • Political communication in forest and environmental policy
  • Democracy, participation and discourses
  • Sustainability research, e.g. on bioeocnomy
